I love this picture! Andrew and David are voracious readers, some would say bibliovores. Fyi: They both learned to read using Phyllis Schlaffley’s First Reader available through Eagle Forum.

The reason they have their jackets on is not because it’s cold in my house. It’s because they are required to feed the lambs before they eat themselves.Did I say I love homeschooling? I DO! I love seeing my sweet children love learning. I love seeing them seek out new things to learn, and soak it all up with near perfect comprehension. Here’s a little gushy momma love~ Ahhhh! My kids are are so smart.
I’m learning new things. I love to learn. I do. And, with all the home schooling we do around here there never seems to be an end to the opportunities for learning. I truly believe that it’s a lifestyle, if one can overcome the natural tendencies to act as if we know everything. Pride is so ugly. But I digress.
I’ve learned to make Kombucha. It’s a healthy drink made by fermenting sweetened organic black tea. Not difficult in the least. I was a bit intimidated to use a culture, goodness it doesn’t look nice, but does an excellent job. The resulting beverage tastes a bit beery, slightly sweet and is good for your liver.
Here’s a pic to let you see a glass:

Chas at My Cup Runneth Over has a wonderful tutorial in her Archives, if you are interested in giving it a try. She is also having a GIVEAWAY right now so head over and have a peak around her sight. Love you Chas!
For those of you who have never studied ancient warfare and for those of you who may not have seen The Lord of the Rings, I present before you a wondrous machine with the ability to demonstrate the laws of physics in a very memorable fashion.

Here it is in action, though smaller. The larger picture wouldn’t fit. Wes and the boys have had a blast building this and trying it out. It’s currently for sale on eBay and Craig’s List- UT.
Every time they get it loaded up to shoot I think of the cave trolls in The Return of the King loading up the trebuchets to fire at the White City of Gondor. Ok, so now you know what kind of geek I am. But this truely is a blast, and figuring out velocity and the angle of the projectile, and using projectiles of different mass? Ahhh, the beauty of home schooling!
I don’t know why children don’t like vegetables. Perhaps it is because they’ve never tasted them. Seth has been chewing on fresh veggies since he had teeth poking through his gums.
Here he is drinking some freshly made carrot juice.

Now that is one genuine smile. I don’t think I could have made him happier with a Hershey’s bar. And I’m sure he’s healthier for getting in all those lovely and necessary nutrients.
